Chemi Peres

Chemi Peres

Chemi Peres is Managing Partner and Founder of the Pitango Foundation, and Chairman of the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation.

Chemi Peres is also the Managing Partner and Founder of the venture capital fund Pitango Venture Capital, Israel´s largest venture capital fund. Chemi has been a household name in the Israeli high-tech industry
for 25 years and has advanced its standing both in Israel and abroad. Pitango has invested in some 250 high-tech companies in the fields of software, communications, information technology, and medical devices.

Chemi served as a pilot in the Israel Air Force for 10 years. After serving in the IDF, he served as a senior consultant to Israel Aircraft Industries, and as a marketing and business development manager at the software company DSI.
 
In 1992, Chemi founded the Mofet Technology Fund, an Israeli venture capital fund listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Chemi managed this fund until 1996, the year he founded Pitango.

In 2003, Chemi cofounded  the Advanced High-Tech Industries Association (originally the Israeli Association of Venture Capital) and served as the Chairman of the Association for two years (2003-2004).
In addition, he served as chairman of the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce in 2008 and is a member of the Board of Directors of Philanthropy and Impact Investments.


Chemi holds an M.B.A. and B.A. in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
